Who is this Showgirl/Philanthropist anyway?

Pat Wynn Brown is a performer, producer, director, author, philanthropist,
emcee, and former captain of the high school cheerleaders.

She was also a Rockette for one shining day.

Pat is a three time winner of the James Thurber Summer Series Humor Award.

She has been recognized by Business First newspaper as a finalist for "Health Care Hero" and a finalist for the prestigious national Jefferson Award, an award created by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Sunny 95 Radio
named her one of the "20 Outstanding Women You Should Know."

She is a featured humorist in the PBS documentary about the life of Erma Bombeck.

Professional background includes:
M.A. degree with focus on communication
State Certified Communications Teacher
Member of NATIONAL SPEAKER'S ASSOCIATION
Member of the ALLIED ASSOCIATION OF THERAPEUTIC HUMOR

Humor writing started Pat's career.
Her two humor books are: HAIR-A-BALOO and MOMMA CULPA. She has written hundreds of humor newspaper
columns and has contributed to several anthologies. Pat wrote a chapter regarding
her belief that everyone can change the world for the Women on Fire anthology.
That book won the 2010 "Indie Excellence Award" (for non-fiction anthology).

Here's a nice CAPITAL STYLE magazine story by writer Kristy Eckert and photographer Will Shilling about Pat and her mission.

The Hair Theater® show series began in 2000. The various episodes have
traveled to cities across the U.S. The two comments Pat loves to hear more than
any other after a show are:
1. "I needed this more than you will ever know," and
2. "I laughed so hard my face hurt."

There is a philanthropic wing to Hair Theater. Pat holds fundraisers each year
to assist this fund that purchases wigs for women in financial need,
necessitated by chemotherapy in Central Ohio. She also contributes a percentage
of her traveling commercial performance fees to the fund. Private donors help
as well. The fund is housed at The Columbus Foundation.

Pat is a cancer survivor (malignant melanoma.) She is married to her high school
sweetheart
and is the mother of an adult son, who finds her merely mildly amusing.

This latin phrase remains Pat's Golden Rule:
Fluctuat nec Mergitur
"She is tossed about by the waves but does not sink"
